About Dr. Ana M. Cvitko, ND, B.Com.

Dr. Ana M. Cvitko is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor with the Manitoba Naturopathic Association (MNA) and a member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND).  Dr. Cvitko is a University of Manitoba graduate and attended the College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, Ontario to obtain her Doctor of Naturopathy.  Dr. Cvitko is also a certified Naturopathic Doula.

Dr. Cvitko started working in the natural health care field as a Chiropractic Assistant and during this time was introduced to the body having an innate ability to heal itself if it is given a chance and when any obstacles to healing were removed.  She had some health issues of her own that conventional medical treatment did not answer, as it only focused on the symptoms instead of addressing the root cause of the symptoms.  It was at that time that she had her first visit with a Naturopathic Doctor and was grateful for the quality of care she received, the individualized approach that the Naturopath took, and especially the results she experienced from Naturopathic treatment.  Dr. Cvitko realized she wanted to learn more about Naturopathic Medicine and how she could help others with natural treatments.

In her practice, Dr. Cvitko works with each patient to achieve their health goals.  She believes in educating her patients on wellness lifestyle and emphasizes preventative medicine.  Dr. Cvitko has a general naturopathic family practice and treats all ages.  She has an interest in hormonal imbalances, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, women's health and fertility.

What to Expect During          Your Visit

New Patient Initial Consultation

An initial consultation will last 1 to 1.5 hours during which a gathering information of your medical history and current health issues and goals, a review of any previous lab results, obtaining a clear picture of your current symptoms and any previous treatments and therapies that have been completed.  It is important during this time that you are willing to be fully honest and open so that Dr. Cvitko may be better able to help you.

Once Dr. Cvitko feels she has a full picture of what is going on she will work with the patient to provide personalized treatment plan recommendations.  If she feels that lab work is needed, she will discuss which labs are required and the process involved.  A comprehensive treatment will depend on lab results, however you will still get a short-term plan while waiting on results to get you feeling better.
